Rotary celebrates Peace Day 2006
    Milledgeville Rotarians and other community members gathered in February to celebrate 'World Understanding and Peace Day'.  Baldwin County became the first Rotary Peace Community in the United States on September 5, 1995.  The Peace Monument to symbolize this commitment was dedicated July 18, 1996.
    
    Milledgeville was named the United State's first Peace Community in 1995 and a Peace Monument was erected at the courthouse in 1996.
