Rotary delivers food
baskets
During the
holidays, the Rotary Club of Milledgeville prepared and
delivered 125 food baskets to families and individuals in
the community. This project started more than 20 years
ago, with the club preparing 25 baskets, and has grown
every year.
In an effort to support
Rotary’s mission, The Rotary Club of Milledgeville started
a Christmas Basket program in 1982. Each December
Rotarians gather to prepare over 100 food baskets for
financially and emotionally needy families in our
community. The recipients’ names comes from Rotarians
that may know of someone, churches, Hospice of the Oconee,
and the Baldwin County Department of Family and Children
Services. These baskets are prepared and delivered on the
same day. The baskets consisted of a ham, turkey, canned
goods, and rolls.
Also on this same day,
Rotarians delivered a fruit basket to the spouses of
Rotarians that have passed away. This is our way of
showing love and support during the holiday season.
